    THE GROVE GIGABYTES J0837

    ID:
    DOB:

Gigabytes was sold to Arubial and Sprys Shorthorns in 2015 for $57,500. This is the second drop of bulls for sale by the homozygous polled son of The Grove Informant Y463. He has bred exactly as we had hoped and passed on his superior carcase traits to all his progeny. He is the Number 1 bull in the breed for Marbling and in the top 10% for Eye Muscle Area. We are really excited about Gigabyte’s future progeny and we will be continuing to multiply him as quickly as we can. With over 270 progeny analysed to date by Breedplan, his figures epitomise the future of quality beef in our industry. The 2018 joining saw us use 6 sons of J0837 in our herd.

  • THE GROVE INFORMER

    ID: BDBF1131
    DOB: 09/12/2010

The Grove F1131 is a combination of two of our most prepotent lines. By the marbling sire The Grove Informant Y463 and out of a full sister to the legendary Bull "Kasper" who is still the only Bull of any breed to win the Champion Interbreed Bull at The Sydney Royal, Brisbane Ekka and Beef Australia all in the one year. Kasper is out of the mighty matron Dale 39. F1131 is currently a $76 bull on the PHA MSA B2 index and has an IMF three times the breed average combined with great growth, EMA and a moderate birth. His first drop of sons to sale last year were led by The Grove J110 who was purchased by Yamburgan Shorthorns for $45000.

  • THE GROVE F516

    THE GROVE F516

    ID: BDBF516
    DOB: 20/09/2010

Another Informant Y463 son whose propensity to marble is reflected in his Breedplan IMF figure which is in the top 1% of the breed, EMA just outside the top 1% and above average fat, F516 is also a trait leader for all growth traits and scrotal. His daughters are slightly larger in frame than the typical Y463 daughters however they still have high fertility levels. A little more punch in the front end figures cutting him out of being suitable for heifers but for a cow herd looking to add two of the most significant profit drivers-weight and quality his genetics are proving very profitable for us at The Grove.

  • THE GROVE TIDE-RIP E667

    THE GROVE TIDE-RIP E667

    ID: BDBE667
    DOB: 15/09/2009

Tide-Rip or Rip Tide as he is more commonly known was purchased by The Arubial herd before being purchased back in 2015. He is a high yielding above breed average for Imf whilst being a trait leader for the growth traits and scrotal. A son of The Grove Oscar who was sold to Yamburgan for $55000 for a half share, Rip Tide is extremely predictable in his genetics and his daughters are playing a huge role in our herd as moderately framed powerfully built cows with great udders. We are so happy with his progeny last year we used 6 sons of his in the herd. It is easy to pick a Rip Tide calf from a distance , just from the Euro shape he leaves them with and then combine that with good IMF and Fats and he is a very complete package.

  • WEEBOLLABOLLA GOODAR G105

    ID: AGFG105
    DOB: 17/07/2011

A United Chief U21 son from the great Weebollabolla herd, purchased in 2013 for $15000. United Chief U21 was tested through Durham giving real integrity to his data. G105's strength is his front end figures combined with a great constitution. A very low birth weight bull whose progeny continue to grow beyond expectation. First sons for sale in the 2016 sale with two of them amongst the best. He will be a bull we will continue to heavily use in coming years. We think the best is yet to come.

  • THE GROVE H0055

    THE GROVE H0055

    ID: BSBH0055
    DOB: 21/8/12

H0055 was sold to Lanstal for $20,000. He is a very surprising bull. To look at him you would think a huge yielding sire would be his greatest strength. Whilst his figures agree with him at nearly double the breed average for RBY%, he also passes on fat in the top 30 percentile Marbling in the top 20%. These three traits in the proportions they fall are rare in any bull of any breed in the beef industry, especially when combined with his front end figures of calving ease, gestation length and birth weight. His overall balance of figures will see him heavily used at The Grove in coming years. H0055 is the sire of last year’s top selling bull TG Playstation M0244 whom we retained semen in and are looking forward to his first calves on the ground shortly.

    THE GROVE K0629

    ID:
    DOB:

This is another Informant Y463 grandson with this his first drop of calves presented for the sale. He is a trait leader in all growth traits, top 15% for EMA, and top 20% for Marbling. He has bred extremely well for us and we are excited about the future his progeny hold for us as we strive to keep breeding cattle with genotypes like what he has passed on.

  • PATHFINDER GENESIS G357

    PATHFINDER GENESIS G357

    ID:
    DOB:

Genesis G357 was chosen as an AI sire because he has been thoroughly tested in the Angus Benchmark sire test program and finds himself sitting at the very top end of the Angus breed, falling in the top 1% for the breeds three index rankings. There will be more to come in coming years. Although his birth weights are a little higher, these progeny were all calved unassisted out of heifers and his calving ease figures in the Angus breedplan reflect this.
